VIOLENZA MADE IN USA. REDAZIONE, Sparatoria a Kansas City durante la parata per i Chiefs, un morto e 22 feriti, DOMANI, 15.02.2024
Durante la festa per la vittoria dei Chiefs al Super Bowl a Kansas City è partita una sparatoria che ha ucciso una persona e ne ha ferite ventidue. Il fuoco è stato aperto pochi istanti dopo che i giocatori dei Chiefs si erano rivolti a una vasta folla di tifosi acclamanti radunati nelle vicinanze.
Di questi undici hanno tra i 6 e i 15 anni. Nessuno di loro è in pericolo di vita. Lo hanno detto i vertici del Children's Mercy Hospital, dove sono tutti ricoverati per ferite da arma da fuoco.

There are two reasons I was inclined to like this book. The first is that Fuhrer spent most of his career as a conventional economist working at the Boston Federal Reserve Bank. (That’s his self-description.) This work is very much a departure from conventional economics.

A tredici anni dalla sua ultima prova narrativa (Imperial Bedrooms) Bret Easton Ellis, l’autore di American Psycho, tira fuori Le schegge (ma avrei lasciato il titolo originale The Shards), un romanzo di settecento pagine indimenticabile, che ti entra dentro al punto da lasciare un vuoto incolmabile. Un grande affresco sulla gioventù dorata californiana degli anni Ottanta, quella di cui ha fatto parte lo stesso Ellis, ancora una volta protagonista della narrazione come in Lunar Park.
